Seven Acres Frequently Asked Questions

Our family wishes to express its deep appreciation for the timeless care and attention you and your staff gave our mother. During her nine-year residence at Seven Acres she became part of your family just as much as she was ours. What higher compliment can I say about Seven Acres? There is and always will be a fond and close relationship between our families and your institution. God Bless you and your staff.

There are so many questions you may have as you or your loved one decides to move to a nursing home facility. As you consider Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services, the following information may help guide your decision.

What is the application process to enter Seven Acres? Is there a long waiting list?

In order for Seven Acres to properly assess our ability to care for a resident, we require recent medical information from the resident's doctor and/or hospitalization records no more than 30 days old. In that way we can best determine which of our many levels of care would be appropriate. We also require financial information about the resident so a determination can be made as to what type of financial arrangements will be made.

In terms of waiting time for admission, please know that Seven Acres is very sensitive to oftentimes crisis situations and we do everything possible to admit residents quickly. Seven Acres maintains seven levels of care, each having its own accommodation availability and waiting list. However, generally speaking residents can be admitted within 5-10 working days if all the required documentation is received.

What type of financial arrangements does Seven Acres accept?

Seven Acres accepts residents who qualify for Medicaid, and/or Medicare funding, private fees, and insurance as well as Medicare for Skilled Nursing residents. In all cases, financial arrangements must be confirmed prior to admission.

How much does Seven Acres charge?

Seven Acres charges a per diem rate according to the size of room accommodations. We have four designs of rooms from semi-private to deluxe private accommodations. However, private accommodations are only available to those residents who are remitting the full fee for care. Please call our business office at 713-778-5703 or 713-778-5707 for more specific information about our fee structure.

Does Seven Acres accept "Medicaid pending"?

No, we require the full fee for service until Medicaid becomes effective, then applicable reimbursement will be made to the payor in accordance with State law.

Is Seven Acres a skilled nursing facility?

Do you have to be Jewish to live at Seven Acres?

Absolutely not. Although Seven Acres receives significant support from the Jewish community, we are a non-sectarian, not-for-profit organization which accepts persons of all faiths and regardless of their national origin.

I have many other questions which I would like to ask. What is the best way for me to find out more information?
