Rehabilitation

When mother arrived at Seven acres she was a rehab patient that was scheduled to go back to her home in a few months. When it was time for her to leave, she wanted to stay at Seven Acres and when it was suggested that she move to another unit, she refused because she loved the unit she was in. Because our goal is for the residents to live as independently as possible, a broad complement of services is provided to Seven Acres residents by a highly-trained staff of licensed therapists and aides. We offer Occupational, Speech, and Physical Therapy services in a program that is affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine.

Rehabilitation Services Offered:

• Physical Therapy:
  Mobility skills; pain management; balance; safety activities
• Occupational Therapy:
  Self-care skills; self-feeding; wheelchair positioning and management
• Speech Therapy:
  Communication; swallowing problems
• Restorative Therapy:
  Maintaining or increasing the resident’s strength, endurance and range of motion; continued pain management
