Seven Acres traces its historic beginnings to 1943, when leaders in the Houston Jewish community, recognizing the need for a home for the Jewish aged, purchased a small house on Branard Street that could accommodate 14 residents. With that early success came more demand and growth in the services and capacity Seven Acres could offer. In 1954, a new community on Chimney Rock Road opened its doors to welcome 31 residents. Three more expansions in five years increased the Houston senior home’s capacity to 98. In 1977, Seven Acres Jewish Home for the Aged cut the ribbons in celebration of a long-held vision – a multiservice community at 6200 N. Braeswood Boulevard, which remains our home to this day.
Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services is located on the Pauline Sterne Wolff Campus adjacent to The Medallion Jewish Assisted Living Residence. Building on decades of experience and elder care expertise, Seven Acres provides modern psycho-social and medical services to residents and senior clients living in our community.
We are the only Jewish nursing community serving kosher meals on the Texas Gulf Coast. Seven Acres is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian, licensed and certified Medicaid, Medicare-accredited, and private-pay community. We warmly welcome people of all faiths and cultures.

Our History
1943
Despite the many impacts and demands of a world war raging around them, leaders in the Houston Jewish community recognized the need for a nearby home for Jewish seniors and pooled their funds to purchase a small house on Branard Street that could accommodate 14 residents.
1954
With a growing wait list for space at Seven Acres, the community raised the funds to build a new home on Chimney Rock Road for as many as 31 residents.
1955-1959
1977
Thanks to the vision, commitment and hard work of community leaders who saw the growing need to provide care and supportive living arrangements for an aging population – their own family members and the aging relatives of their non-Jewish friends and neighbors in the Meyerland, Bellaire, West University and Fondren neighborhoods − Seven Acres Jewish Home for the Aged opened its doors at 6200 N. Braeswood Boulevard, a 162,364 square feet home on seven acres in the heart of the Houston community.
